A great day out for all the family, Glendurgan is a real find! A garden of three valleys, that reaches down to the sparkling waters of the Helford River. The garden has trees and shrubs that have been collected from all around the world. In spring the camellias, rhododendrons, magnolias and azaleas are a sight to behold, carpeted beneath with wild flowers.
Glendurgan was created as a family garden, and as such continues to be enjoyed by many families each year. The laurel maze created in 1833, the Giant's Stride, the recreated Victorian School Room, and the beach at Durgan provide hours of amusement for children and adults alike.
For the serious gardener, Glendurgan is a veritable treasure chest of delights around every corner. As well as the huge variety of planting, there are stunning views out over the Helford River.
The tea-room serves light lunches and teas, with many of the items being produced at the property, from ingredients that have been obtained from local farmers and producers. A great place for a reviving cup of tea, and something to eat after a stroll around the garden. The shop has a gift to take away and a selection of plants for sale.
